Strategy and Leadership in Service of Early Childhood
Jay Dave founded BeyondCare Consulting to help early childhood organizations make clearer decisions and build the financial and operating strength needed to sustain and advance their missions.
Jay works alongside leaders and teams across the early childhood field to strengthen organizations and systems and move priorities from idea to action.
His perspective is grounded in direct experience inside early childhood organizations, including as a fractional finance and strategy executive and a preschool board member and treasurer.
Jay chose to focus his work on early education and child care because he sees the field as foundational to children’s development and future opportunities, family stability, and parents’ ability to participate in the workforce.
He is deeply committed to the field and passionate about helping its organizations thrive and supporting the educators and caregivers at the heart of the work.
Bringing together strategy, finance, and operating experience to help leaders navigate complex decisions with greater clarity
In recent years, Jay has helped early childhood providers significantly improve educator compensation through sustainable funding strategies and led an effort that secured a multi-million-dollar grant for classroom quality and educator support.
He has also helped launch a Family Child Care (FCC) Network and developed a turnaround plan for a program facing serious financial challenges.
Jay brings 20 years of experience in organizational leadership, entrepreneurship, and management consulting.
Before founding BeyondCare, he spent nearly a decade at McKinsey & Company, where he led teams advising executives and boards on strategy, growth, finance, organizational change, and technology.
Earlier, he built and led the North India business of a venture-backed startup, giving him firsthand experience leading an organization through growth and change.
Jay is a graduate of INSEAD and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. He has lived and worked across the United States, Europe, and India and is now based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
